I bought this cardigan a few years ago from our local Giant Tiger. It was a "cheap and cheerful" add to my winter wardrobe and has held up amazingly well.

Sisters Breakfast Date

Another whirlwind cake weekend down in the books - but thankfully this time the hubs took our boys up to the cottage for the weekend, so I had the kitchen (the house!) to myself without interruption.

Blue Hair, Don't Care

On Friday I had an appointment with my stylist to do something that I've been wanting to do for quite some time. I had about half of my hair dyed blue!

A lazy Sunday with a little grocery shopping, late lunch with the family. What to wear... This mama is all about comfort (but I still want to look like I tried...) So this is what I came up with!

Cardi and Scarf

Get a bunch of Moms and Mom-types together and you'll see an abundance of these two things: cardigans and scarves.

Peach and Plaid

Wearing skirts in the winter can be tricky up here in Canada. Tights or not there are days when you still need a rather thick layer of fabric between your skin and the cold.

Frankly, my deer...

Everyone has a few items in their closets that aren't necessarily fashionable, don't quite fit perfectly, but are so comfortable and so full of memory that it just feels good to break it out and wear it occasionally. That's how I feel about this deer cardigan.

Summer dress, Winter Weather

I love being able to translate summer pieces into winter wear. It can be tough, and I have a few rules in order to make sure it works.

Navy, Red & Retro

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This sweet, basic little navy dress (with pockets!) was one of the boxing day deals I happened to pick up at Target. It was a great deal at 50% off and I ended up paying less than $14 for it.

Colour Comfort

Some things just make you feel like you. And for me, that's wearing bright colours. I love the rich, saturated brights of this top and cardigan.

Layered

Lately the days have been sort of irregular. They start off seriously cold and windy, a nip in the air, as the day moves on it gets warmer, sometimes the wind dies down, and then by evening it tends to be cool again, and often wet - this kind of weather obviously requires layers. Lots of layers.

Black and Red

I think black and red is one of my favourite colour combinations. Whenever I look back at photos of myself and outfits I particularly love - black and red is definitely a recurring theme. There's just something about it.
