Practically Perfect

I'm a sucker for a good dress.

Body Con(scious)

Generally speaking, I love a good dress. Especially a nice solid, rich colour, and in recent years I have actually begun to have enough confidence to wear ones that inch a little closer to the body-con style. Which took a while. I went through a definite phase where if it clung too close to the body it wasn't in my closet.

Tunic Time

I'll admit that there's not much I love more than a good tunic. I find they're flattering to most body types, they hide a multitude of sins and they can be seriously comfortable.

Prep

I have to admit - even though this outfit sort of screams "Prep School" I still love it.

Leggings for Days

If I have a fall Mom-iform (that's mom uniform for the uninitiated) it's leggings and a tunic. Seriously - it doesn't get much easier than pulling on some good leggings and a nice tunic and just taking the day head on.

Who wears Plaid Pants?!

I had an almost unnecessary amount of excitement when I found these plaid pixie pants at Old Navy this fall.

Fall Prints and Leggings

I love wearing prints, but every now and again we swing back towards this trend of teeny tiny all over prints - and I'm sorry - but I just can't wear it.

Absent-minded professor?

Something about this outfit made me feel sort of professorial.

Vacation Imagination

I had never intended to wear these shorts and this top together. I packed them to wear with separate items and then they ended up together...

Another great example of a prime varagesale find that just needed a bit of work!

I actually laughed out loud when I looked at these pictures. I can hardly believe it, but I kind of look... well... short!

When I saw this tunic sweater at our local GT Boutique I thought - well - there's something springy!

 

The best part is though, that this sweater is both light enough to wear into spring and warm enough to wear right now!

A lazy Sunday with a little grocery shopping, late lunch with the family. What to wear... This mama is all about comfort (but I still want to look like I tried...) So this is what I came up with!

Neglected

Some of my fave bloggers have been mentioning wearing some "neglected" clothing pieces lately... which made me think of this faux shearling moto type vest that's been hanging in my front closet.

Winter Uniform

Do you ever wear something so often that it starts to feel like a uniform? Well, if I had to have a uniform for winter - it would be this: jeans, tank/tee, button down, vest, moccasins/boots. Done. Voila.

Peach and Plaid

Wearing skirts in the winter can be tricky up here in Canada. Tights or not there are days when you still need a rather thick layer of fabric between your skin and the cold.

Plaid and denim

This plaid shirt is quickly becoming a wardrobe favourite for me. It has a great loose, comfortable cut, soft flannel fabric and yet enough structure to be worn on it's own and not look like I'm wearing my Dad's shirt (which I totally used to do, I'll admit it - it was the 90s....).

Cables and Velvet

I love lush, rich, wintery fabrics like velvet.

Feeling Festive

I think it's no secret that the colour red and I have a long, serious and dedicated relationship with each other... but it's funny how suddenly a colour I wear all year long feels instantly "festive" the closer we get to Christmas. I love this red boyfriend cardigan that I picked up at Walmart almost 2 years ago. I don't know if they were really in style then, and I don't even care if they're not in style now - it's bright red and comfortable and I love it.

Plaid Love

There's something about plaid in the winter. Even more so for me as Christmas approaches. Give me plaid anything - plaid shirts, plaid coats, plaid pajama pants, plaid blankets and scarves, plaid pillows even! I just love it. And this plaid shirt just says relaxing at Christmastime with friends. It's the red and green and white I think.
