I do love a good graphic tee - but I don't wear one very often. Honestly, I find I'm drawn to solid brights, a funky pattern or even just a neutral (hello - how many black tee-shirts does one girl need?). But a couple of years ago we were in Florida on a family vacation and visited Kennedy Space station - and when I saw this tee, I had. to. have. it.

Spring(ish)

Oh, I have been dying for some spring-like weather! I mean, I know that here in Canada we have gotten a light dusting of snow as late as the Victoria Day weekend - but still! I need sunshine! I need warmth! I need flowers and bees and spring thunderstorms and green everywhere! Come. On. Spring.

Tee perfect

What is it about the tee-shirt? It's a total wardrobe staple - and I mean everything from your plain white cotton ones that are perfect for layering to this breezy, chiffon beauty in a nice deep pink.

It's been an interesting time for me readers - I know, I know - I've been away for quite a while - and some of you have even taken to writing messages to me reminding me to get back at it (Thanks for the push Judith!) and I have been taking some time to think.

Put a bow on it

Like most Moms, I often fall into the jeans and a t-shirt rut. It's just so easy to pull on in the morning and get to the business of making lunches, getting kids ready for school and the rest of the everyday life that gets in the way of looking awesome.

I've been loving the all-white trend I keep seeing these days - but let's be honest, all white with 2 kids, my nephew, a dog, a cake business... it's just not a good combo

 

Flower Power

My littlest is majorly super-hero obsessed (actually so is my biggest, but hey - they're boys) and pretty much everything these days is a "power" this or a "power" that. For example: "Mommy - these are my power shoes - they make me go super-fast!" or "Mommy - is that necklace you're wearing a power-necklace?" etc etc

Sisters Breakfast Date

Another whirlwind cake weekend down in the books - but thankfully this time the hubs took our boys up to the cottage for the weekend, so I had the kitchen (the house!) to myself without interruption.

Flowers & Sunshine - and a Giveaway!

Yay for long weekends! This was a crazy busy weekend for me as my sister and I had 2 wedding cake orders due for delivery on the Saturday, but once we got past that madness.... yay for sunshine and flowers!

80s Throwback

So, I think I'm officially a "Child of the 80s".

Got the blues!

Decided to wear my blue print pants after wearing my navy print pants the other day.

The print pants are back! Oh how I love printed pants. I have several pairs, in several different prints and I just think they're so fun.

Paint Chips

I love to try new crafts on a regular basis, and I especially love them if I'm able to somewhat replicate a much more expensive option for much much cheaper. Enter the paint-chip necklace.

Brighten my day

Slowly and steadily I've been pulling out pieces from my spring storage box and when I pulled out this scarf I thought - yes! This is exactly the inspiration piece I need for a bright spring outfit.

Cobalt & Stripes

I've been trying to think of things other than plain white to wear under my cobalt blazer. Sometimes you just get in a rut with certain items of clothing. I finally decided to try throwing it on over my striped tee and green pants.

Canadian Comfort Wear

While this is not the type of outfit I usually share with you on the blog I was inspired because last weekend the hubs and I went away for some great outdoor fun in beautiful Huntsville, ON. More pics from our trip in an upcoming post - but one of my favourite stores EVER is up in Muskoka and it's called Muskoka Bearwear.

Velvet

Is there any fabric you associate more with winter, snow, richness, etc than velvet? It's that lush, smooth, soft feel that I just love.
