Garden Party

Recently I attended a "garden party" themed bridal shower for a family friend.

The decor was lovely and it was nice to see ladies in a lot of flowy, floral dresses.

Spring(ish)

Oh, I have been dying for some spring-like weather! I mean, I know that here in Canada we have gotten a light dusting of snow as late as the Victoria Day weekend - but still! I need sunshine! I need warmth! I need flowers and bees and spring thunderstorms and green everywhere! Come. On. Spring.

A Time Away

Dear Readers,

Are you still out there? If I've lost you forever, I apologize. I hope that you moved on to other Plus-sized Mom blogs full of sarcasm and love. If I haven't lost you, then I am soooo glad you're still here!

I didn't plan it, I just found that I needed time. I love this blog, I love you, dear Readers, but I needed a time away. A time to focus on myself, my family, my home businesses, my life! But the other day I thought - you know what I miss? Blogging!

It's been an interesting time for me readers - I know, I know - I've been away for quite a while - and some of you have even taken to writing messages to me reminding me to get back at it (Thanks for the push Judith!) and I have been taking some time to think.

Texture and Print

I always love the way mixed prints look on some of my fave fashion bloggers. Specifically stripes and floral. But every time I put it on myself I think I look a little, well, silly. Perhaps I haven't found the right pieces to combine yet.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend. Ours was filled with family and church services and love and laughter. Oh, and food. So. Much. Food.

Winter Prints & Floral

When it's -20'C outside and I have to keep putting on my down coat and giant winter boots I start to get a little clothes-antsy.

Shades of Green

Green is not usually my colour. I mean, occasionally I venture into the green side of teal, and I have a few forest green items in my wardrobe, but there is a serious lack of green compared to the other colours of the rainbow.

You've definitely seen this dress a few times before - however, I think this is the first time I've worn it as a skirt.

Little Miss Flower Pants

I'm glad I got a chance to wear these pants one more time this summer before the fall weather really kicks in.

It's every girls dream to wear something comfortable that still looks put together. For me this homemade peplum top fits that bill exactly. It's comfy, it's a nice bright floral and it just plain makes me happy!

Celebrating 60!

My Grandparents just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary!

Flower Power

My littlest is majorly super-hero obsessed (actually so is my biggest, but hey - they're boys) and pretty much everything these days is a "power" this or a "power" that. For example: "Mommy - these are my power shoes - they make me go super-fast!" or "Mommy - is that necklace you're wearing a power-necklace?" etc etc

Sisters Breakfast Date

Another whirlwind cake weekend down in the books - but thankfully this time the hubs took our boys up to the cottage for the weekend, so I had the kitchen (the house!) to myself without interruption.

Yay for long weekends! This was a crazy busy weekend for me as my sister and I had 2 wedding cake orders due for delivery on the Saturday, but once we got past that madness.... yay for sunshine and flowers!

Top Ten Remix Roundup

Well it's the last day of April and since I don't have an outfit to post today I'm going to post my Top Ten Remix round-up!

The Top Ten Remix was started by Sarah from Sarah's Real Life and the challenge was to pick 10 items from your wardrobe that really say "You" (or "Me" or... whatever - you know what I mean).

So here they are and the ways I've worn them over the past month

1. Chambray Shirt - I actually wore this several times this month - however, apparently I only took a picture once...

2. Red Flats - Yeah - these were a good choice. I wear them a LOT

  

3. Leopard Flats - Love these leopard flats. They're pretty much my go-to shoe lately. I love how leopard can actually work as a neutral, but still be a standout on their own.

4. Hearts Necklace - I adore this necklace. It goes with absolutely everything.

5. Double Stud Pearl Earrings - These are an item that kind of surprised me. I love them because they're so unique but at the same time because they're "pearl" they are also kind of classic. I even wore them to a high-tea!

6. Cobalt Blazer - I didn't get nearly as many outfits out of this blazer as I thought I would. I love it and I think it goes with a tonne of things, but I just didn't wear it as often as I thought I would.

7. Poppy Blazer - I can't believe I only wore this once! It's crazy, because I love this blazer, and I totally thought I would wear it more. I did, however, pick up a navy and a red blazer this month - and we all know how sometimes new items take the place of a well-loved not-so-new item.

8. Cropped Black Pants - Again - I'm certain I wore these more often, but only one pictured outfit!  Crazy!

9. Floral Scarf - I wore this scarf several times but not necessarily as part of a defined outfit. The first time I wore this for the top ten was for Easter Sunday - but then my laptop died and I still haven't been able to get the pictures off of it - I have just one from Easter morning with my friend Kate, I also wore the scarf with my chambray and leopard flats just a few days ago.

10. Owl Earrings - I actually wore these a lot this month... but they do NOT photograph well. They often get lost in my hair and as such I only have one picture where you can see the earrings!

So there you have it. My Top-Ten Round-up!

I'm not sure how I actually "did" per se - but it's obvious from the roundup that my whole top ten could have been shoes, lol. Well - Mama loves what Mama loves!
