Cropped

We're finally (FINALLY!) getting some warmer, more springtime appropriate weather!

Mermaid Inspired & Link up

I will fully admit that my outfit today was inspired by how my hair re-do turned out. My Mom came by and helped me re-dye the blue in my hair and I'm kind of loving how the different shades of blue and teal all mixed together. It's like mermaid hair! I kind of love it.

Springtime Day Dress

I posted a quick selfie while wearing this dress yesterday and captioned it mentioning something about how I found this vintage day-dress while shopping!

Paint Chips

I love to try new crafts on a regular basis, and I especially love them if I'm able to somewhat replicate a much more expensive option for much much cheaper. Enter the paint-chip necklace.

Brighten my day

Slowly and steadily I've been pulling out pieces from my spring storage box and when I pulled out this scarf I thought - yes! This is exactly the inspiration piece I need for a bright spring outfit.

Shorty?

I actually laughed out loud when I looked at these pictures. I can hardly believe it, but I kind of look... well... short!

Dreaming of Spring: Wardrobe Wishlist

Oh this snow. This horrible, cold, wet, snow. Ugh.

Okay -  I know, I know - I live in Canada. It snows here. Duh. But still. It's been oh-so-cold for the past few weeks and it snows like every other day and I'm just tired of putting on 18 bajillion layers every single time I want to go out of the house, and I'm tired of days where the air is so cold it freezes your nose shut and then hurts your teeth when you breathe.

Okay - that was probably too much information - the point is - it's cold, and I'm sick of it.

To combat my Feb-blah-ary I've been doing a considerable amount of online window(s) shopping and I thought I would share my Spring Wardrobe Wishlist with you all! I'm dreaming of bright pink, coral, green and blue. Sunny yellows and bright rich reds. I'm dreaming flowers and prints and fun accessories too!

Black, Grey & Teal

Did you do any Boxing Day (week?) shopping? I didn't really do much, but I did happen to stop by Ricki's with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and picked up a few great items for a song and had some fun girl time while we were at it.

Holiday Glam

I wore this outfit on Christmas Eve to church. Christmas is past, but I feel that the same ideas for simple glam can be applied to New Year's Eve as easily as Christmas.

Effortless style on Repeat

Generally I wouldn't post two outfits so close together that are so similar, but after I wore this flowy blouse to my Mom-date with jeggings and black boots, I just didn't want to wear anything else to an annual family Christmas party this past weekend.

Layered

While layers are a definite necessity for warmth this time of year - especially when we've had gusting winds of up to 90km an hour - I often find that I look more like the Stay-puft marshmallow man than a woman with a figure when I layer up. I think the trick for this is to pick layers that are thin but warm.

Velvet

Is there any fabric you associate more with winter, snow, richness, etc than velvet? It's that lush, smooth, soft feel that I just love.

Graphic Sweatshirt

Starting off with a casual look this week!

This week I'll be linking up with Andi from Just Another Smith several times because it's graphic-tee week!

Apple Pickin'

It's become a bit of a fall tradition over the past few years for my sisters and I to go apple picking and hang out at the fun farm with our kids. Last year on our apple picking trip my middle sister told our baby-sister that she was pregnant, this year her little one joined us - next year he'll be running along the orchard paths with my boys. :)

Red & Teal

I love a good slightly unexpected colour combination. Wearing red & teal together is probably not for everyone, however, today it was really feeling brisk and fall-ish. These red "denim look" jeggings are so ridiculously comfortable and stretchy and I love the collar on this long teal sweat-shirt. Throw on some moccs and this is a great mama-worthy outfit!

Boho Mama

I'm absolutely positive that I am so far from actual "boho" fashion or lifestyle or whatever, but occasionally there are days when I just want to wear a flowy scarf as a vest and braid part of my hair and walk around a farmer's market in flip-flops. This was totally one of those days.

Also - I let my two kiddos take turns taking some pics with my camera -you know, you get a really interesting perspective of a place when you see pictures from the view of a child. So I thought I'd share some of those with you too. Enjoy!
Tea.

Fam Jam Casual

Our family takes pretty much any excuse to get together - and we love to hang out and celebrate pretty much everything with lots of food, laughs and yummy cake. Our parents birthdays are only 5 days apart in August and we generally do a family get together somewhere in between the two. I wore some seriously comfy (and very stretchy) jeggings, a great gingham button down and some bright accessories.  A great, comfortable fam-jam casual outfit.

Ice Cream Social

Okay, so I didn't really go to an ice-cream social. I don't think I have the correct type of life to go to things like ice-cream socials (do people still do that? Is it a thing? I think it should be a thing). Which is unfortunate - not really because I particularly like ice-cream (because I kind of don't) - but because it would give me a more honest reason to wear cute outfits.

In this case, however, we went into town (Dorset, Ontario - woot!) on Saturday afternoon to do a little shopping (Mama bought herself a new pair of moccasins - watch for those babies in a future post) and get some ice cream at Northern D'Lites.

I love these bright red shorts that I got from Walmart and I picked up this fun teal top in the states on our way home from Calgary and I think that red and teal is a kind of unexpected but super fun and wearable colour combo. Add my trusty flip-flops (which sadly broke the very next day and were unceremoniously chucked) and it was the perfect, comfy outfit for shopping and cool treats!

Standing near some amazing boats.... that are obviously not mine.
