Tie one on

Do you have any items in your closet that you can never let go of? This sweater is one of those things for me. It belonged to my Mum, and is probably older than I am.

Sweater Weather

For the  most part I don't buy into the whole "basic b*tch" ness of fall-love. I don't like Pumpkin Spice Lattes (sorry, but if it's gonna have the spices, it has to have the pumpkin - and also, preferably, actually be a baked good), I don't wear ugg boots and yoga pants out in public (I don't even OWN ugg boots) and if I wear a flannel shirt I'm more likely to look like I misplaced my axe than anything that can be described as "cute".

Timeless

I've worn this dress several times already - I'm pretty sure I've even posted it here on the blog, and every time I think "I should style this differently" and then, I just.... don't.

Fly Me to the Moon

I do love a good graphic tee - but I don't wear one very often. Honestly, I find I'm drawn to solid brights, a funky pattern or even just a neutral (hello - how many black tee-shirts does one girl need?). But a couple of years ago we were in Florida on a family vacation and visited Kennedy Space station - and when I saw this tee, I had. to. have. it.

Play it again, Kid!

So, obviously a staple of the Mom wardrobe is items that can be worn many times over with many different pieces. I wouldn't even REMOTELY say that I have a minimalist wardrobe, but I definitely have a lot of mix and match items.

That's why the fancy leggings are back - and I've worn them with my grey asymmetrical tee from Torrid. I love love love this tee. It's so funky and different, and yet it's so. freaking. comfortable, it's legitimately like walking around wearing pajamas in public - but, you know, without the weird stares and judging and stuff.

I was at my big kid's ultimate frisbee tournament all day when I wore this, so I definitely needed pockets (to put my phone and all the other random things my kid hands me during the day), so I topped it with my acid-wash denim vest... which always makes me think of the 90s. But in a good way.

Super comfortable sandles, curly hair and a dark lip for some drama (cause you KNOW Mama lives for the Drama, lol).

Expect to see any/all of these pieces over and over again!

What Mama Wants

I've posted this tee-tunic on my Instagram before - and it meets one of my many "wants" when it comes to clothing: comfort while still stylish.

Want you back, want you back, want you back for good....

It's been an interesting time for me readers - I know, I know - I've been away for quite a while - and some of you have even taken to writing messages to me reminding me to get back at it (Thanks for the push Judith!) and I have been taking some time to think.

Grey & Green

Usually in the winter when I dress up I tend towards skirts and tights but occasionally I go back to the same style of grey dress pants I've been wearing for years.

Family Photo Fest

Back at the beginning of November my family got together at one of the local parks and met with a very talented young photographer, Ashley Topping, to have some family photos done. The last time we did this as a large group my littl'un was just a baby - and he's now 5, so we were certainly due for an update. My sisters and I all split on the cost of the session with Ashley (which was incredibly reasonably priced, I might add) and gave the photo session to our parents as a birthday gift - their birthdays are only 5 days apart.

Black, Grey & Coral

This past Sunday was our Remembrance Sunday service, and our dance group was giving a dance offering. Since I knew I'd be changing into my dancewear at the church, I needed to wear something simple, easy, and quick to change in and out of.

Still Winter

This post is part Outfit of the Day and part Public Service Announcement.
Attention: despite what you may have seen in your blog feed, tumblr dash or facebook newsfeed - it is STILL WINTER.

Outdoorsy... ish

This is one of those outfits that I always try and categorize and it comes out as "Outdoors...y....ish".
Thing is - if I was actually spending time outdoors, I probably wouldn't be wearing this. But this is the kind of outfit that people think of when you say "outdoorsy". Y'know?
