Crops are tops!

This early fall has had some great weather - this day was bright and sunny and just this side of cool in the morning. Pairing some cropped pants with a cropped blazer over a refashioned lace tank made for a perfect Sunday morning outfit. I wore this to church and to hang out with my little family for the day.

Blue Blazer & Print Dress

I recently picked up this blue blazer from Suzy Shier. It's purely for looks as it has no buttons, no lining and is actually quite stretchy, but I loved the colour and I think it's good to have a few "not quite" blazers in the wardrobe to throw overtop of a sleeveless dress or shirt when the occasion calls for it.

 

Mama Chic

I call this type of outfit "Mama Chic". It's like the Today's Parent of outfits for Moms. It's the perfect recipe for looking what my Grandmother would call "put together". Which pretty much means boring, basic, but clothed not in sweatpants and a dirty t-shirt.

So, to recap: Capri pants (with a proper waistband and fly, y'know "real" pants) + Brightly coloured T-shirt + Contrasting colour sweater/cardigan/light blazer = Mama Chic
