Tea Time

Can we pretend for a second that I have the kind of lifestyle where I dress up real fancy and go and have high tea somewhere? Oh wait - I do. Well, sort of.

A wonderful lady at my church recently finished her Masters of Divinity degree so a group of ladies (myself included) decided to throw a High Tea in celebration of her graduation.

It was an absolute blast! There were lots of fascinators, gloves, pearls, finger sandwiches and yummy sweets. We even had a silver-tea service. Glorious!

My friend Andrea and I went out antique shopping on Saturday morning and managed to pick up a couple of seriously amazing vintage hats to wear to the tea, I pulled out some of my great-great Aunt Edie's gloves and got to dress up!

My black and white dress from Mark's Work Wearhouse was the perfect dress for this type of event as I'm pretty sure you couldn't wrinkle this dress if you tried. Andrea lent me some blue suede pumps to match my hat (and my hair) and I even managed to fit in a top-ten item by wearing my double-stud pearl earrings.

Have you ever attended a high-tea? I think we should bring these types of events back into style!
Bonus high-tea pics!

    1. Thanks Megan! I was super excited to find the hat in the antiques market at our local flea market! And the dress is one I've owned for quite a while, but has always been a fave!
