Dress like a Diva

This past Friday I had the honour of singing during our Good Friday service.

Generally the service is quite somber, and the majority of the worship leadership, readers, etc wear all black, as well as having the sanctuary draped in black. As I was part of the service I decided to dress in concert with the feel of the rest of the service.

When singing I like to take the time to really dress up - it makes me feel more professional and prepared to sing my performance. Comes from so many years of vocal training - but I think it's true of any job or role that we play - you dress the part and you do it better! So, when I want to be a Diva (in the true concert singer definition of the word, not the snotty hard to deal with definition) I try to dress like one.

My black peplum, black coated pencil skirt and black lace-back bolero come together to mimic a peplum dress. My owl pendant necklace and my owl earrings (my top-ten item) and the whole outfit comes together nicely.
