Poppy and Plum

Naming colours is a funny thing. When I was thinking of describing this dress as orange and purple it just didn't sound quite.... right.

I always think of this blazer as being poppy coloured. It's an orange, really, but it has strong red tones in it, which make it more poppy than orange, and is what drew me to this blazer the first time I saw it. It's also why it's one of my top-ten remix items even though I don't wear it terribly often.

And then this dress (which definitely has an orange band at the top) is mostly a burgundy/purply/pinky colour... which can probably be best described as plum.

 

So there you have it! The reasoning behind the naming of colours and an alliterative title!

I wore this for church on Sunday morning, and it was actually warm enough to go without tights for the first time this year! Which meant that I could wear my orange and gold shoes that my boys bought me for mother's day last year.
