That's a wrap

I picked up this denim wrap dress about a month ago while at our local V-V Boutique (that's Value Village for those of you who don't speak Mama-Sarcasm) and it hung in my closet for a while because once I got it home I wasn't really sure how to wear it.

Here's the thing with wrap dresses - they're fantastic for 99% of people; they tend to flow nicely, they have a flattering shape for most bodies and they're comfortable. BUT they can quickly become unfit for public consumption if you are built like this mama up top. I mean, the hubs thinks it looks great - but I've got a lot going on and I think it looks like I'm about to advertise lingerie...

How to solve this problem? A scarf of course! I love this printed scarf that I picked up from a fair trade seller at a women's conference. The colours are so bright and saturated and the silk is just so yummy against my skin. It's one of my faves.

Some fleece lined tights because the wind is bringing the colder temperatures in in a hurry and my old go-to brown boots.

I really wanted to take pics outside but it was so super windy the day I wore this that the scarf and my hair were literally everywhere the second I stepped out the door.

Oh well, you make do with what you can I guess!

  2. The scarf is a smart accessory---I also use a cami or tank top under it for the same reason! I think the dress is a great find though, especially since it has long sleeves!! jodie

    1. The cami just wasn't staying put with this one, not sure why, but I'm loving how the look turned out with the scarf anyways! Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Not only is it fun, but it's also pure silk AND Fair Trade! It's a beautiful scarf and one I will keep for a lifetime. I always look into the fair trade booths at conferences, or sometimes check out Ten Thousand Villages for other fair trade items. Totally one of a kind and serves a great purpose too!
