Plaid Pencil

This asymmetric plaid skirt is a new addition to my wardrobe and it's so perfectly "fall" and will transition well into the winter months.

I was out shopping with my sisters after we saw Kinky Boots and when I found this skirt in the Marshall's we were in, I was unsure about it but both of my sisters said "YES! That is SO you!"

So without questioning it - I bought it. Honestly, I didn't even try it on. That's how much I trust my sisters' opinions.

I got it home, quickly tried it on (it fit! Yay!) and then hung it in my closet. I've probably taken it out about 10 times since then before finally wearing it to church this past Sunday.
Well, let me say - I have no idea why I was so hesitant because I LOVE this skirt. I love the plaid, I love the asymmetrical look to the front of it, but I also love how despite that, the plaid still matches up. It's super comfortable, made with a jersey type of fabric and has a very comfortable flat elastic waistband.

I didn't want to take away from the skirt too much with this outfit so I went with all black otherwise: black tee, tights, belt and flats. Some super simple jewellery and minimal makeup and this outfit was complete.

So, moral of the story? Don't second guess your sisters' opinions on clothes. Or, at least, don't second guess MY sisters' opinions.
