Still Winter

This post is part Outfit of the Day and part Public Service Announcement.
Attention: despite what you may have seen in your blog feed, tumblr dash or facebook newsfeed - it is STILL WINTER.

Yes. I am sorry to say - despite the plethora of bright coloured midi skirts, floral blouses, open toed shoes and bare legs (BARE LEGS) I have seen lately from some of my southern blogger faves, winter is still - unfortunately - still sticking around.

Honestly - I love me some blog-ladies, but I am so blown away by the "It was warm enough to go without a coat today" and "I love this skirt with tights, but it was so nice to not have to wear them" business - I mean, seriously -  have you no hearts?! I can't go outside to bring my recycling bins up to the house without a down filled coat, hat, mitts and winter boots. Have you SEEN any outdoor pictures on this blog? Nuh-uh. It's COLD out there baby.

Okay - so to be fair, this might have been less PSA and more jealousy fueled rant.... but it was frickin' freezing in my house when I got up in the morning, so I needed some fleece lined fair-isle print leggings, and I wore my fair-isle tunic sweater, some awesomely warm wool socks and a scarf. Yeah - inside.

We took our littlest out to the toy store to window shop since his 5th birthday is coming up and I put on my laceup boots because I honestly didn't feel like trudging around inside the toy store with my knee-high Sorels on - they're awesome, but they weigh like 5 pounds... each.

Admittedly, later in the afternoon I did put a blanket on over top of myself, but for the most part this outfit was warm enough to hang out with my kiddos, work on this here blog and do some light housework.

  1. I love those leggings and boots, very warm and toasty looking from here. Happy almost birthday to your little guy, I hope you found some toys or good ideas for gifts. Thank you for your encouragement and kind words on my blog today. The day started out as another emotional rollercoaster but it got better. I hope you are able to link back up tomorrow to "Bloggers WHo Have Inspired Me" link up as somehow I am not sure I put the right e-mail in for you for the e-mail reminder I sent out.
