A little mix

I love prints. I love this blanket scarf that my sister gave me for my birthday this year. I love my denim jacket, and I love a good tunic with leggings. Could I get all of these things in one outfit? You know it!

This is one of those outfits that just sort of built itself up as I wandered through my house. I knew I wanted to wear my tunic with my new navy leggings, and then it was cold in my house in the morning and my blanket scarf was just sitting in the livingroom.

When I first saw it I thought - ugh, I'll have to go find a different scarf later that matches this shirt better, but when I caught sight of myself in our front hall mirror I realized I was wearing a print-mixing win!

The burgundy in the scarf picks up on the burgundy in the print. The plaid is a nice big plaid and the print is fairly subdued. It all just seems to work!

I threw on my jacket and my old boots to take the boys to school and one of the other blacktop moms told me I looked great that day - I got home and thought; you know what? She's right!

So there you have it: an outfit that built itself and even had a little mix. Win!

PS - LOLing a bit at the Hubs' shadow in all these pics - should have told him to stand out of the backlight - but at least he's willing to be my photographer!
